Tucked away in a secluded cove, a handful of beach cottages and yoga shalas dot the Goan shoreline. With the entrance, only being accessible by foot along a stretch of palm trees, Little Cove Yoga Retreat offers a slice of paradise. The retreat is owned and run by Mahendra Pardeshi and offers yoga and meditation classes in a spectacular location overlooking Little Cola beach.
Being my first yoga retreat I was a little unsure what to expect but Little Cove Yoga has a distinctively relaxed vibe. Yoga is offered twice a day (except Sundays) on a wooden open air shala, providing the perfect zen backdrop to practice. Without a rigid schedule, there was plenty of ‘free time’ to lounge on the beach, explore the surroundings and relax without the usual distractions of everyday life.

I had already spent a month in India before arriving at Little Cove and although I had loved exploring India, the hours on the road and chaotic bustle of the cities had worn me down. I was looking forward to slowing down and there was no better spot than this intimate beachfront retreat.
The wellness approach extends to its culinary experience, with organic Indian vegetarian meals served using locally sourced ingredients where possible and freshly ground spices. The food was a highlight and some of the best vegetarian food I had during my travels across India. The in-house chef also provides complimentary cooking classes and shared some amazing recipes including dahl and pumpkin and chickpea curry.
The retreat brings an atmosphere of simplicity and serenity and is the perfect escape to rejuvenate and deepen your practice. Escape the everyday and unwind at Little Cove, where yoga, meditation and lounging on the beach becomes part of daily life in this secluded bliss.
